Product Features

 

At room temperature, BS-12 appears as a colorless to pale yellow transparent viscous liquid. Its relative density (20) is approximately 1.03, and it is readily soluble in water. In acidic media (low pH), it exhibits cationic properties, while in alkaline media (high pH), it displays anionic behavior, enabling stable compatibility with various surfactants across a wide pH range. It remains stable in acidic, alkaline, and hard water conditions and is also stable in the presence of sodium hypochlorite. However, prolonged heating above 100 should be avoided.

BS-12 exhibits low irritation to the skin and eyes, along with favorable biodegradability, making it highly suitable for personal care cleansing products. It possesses excellent foaming capacity, producing rich and fine foam. When combined with anionic surfactants (e.g., sodium lauryl ether sulfate, SLES), it significantly enhances both the abundance and stability of the foam system while providing a synergistic thickening effect. Its conditioning and antistatic properties contribute to soft, smooth, and manageable hair with effective static control. Even in hard water (with high levels of calcium and magnesium ions), BS-12 maintains strong cleaning performance. Additionally, it offers certain antibacterial and disinfecting capabilities, effective against a variety of bacteria, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

 



Application

 

Personal Care and Household Products: As a key ingredient in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, foam baths, hand soaps, and similar products, it is particularly suitable for formulating childrens cleansers and sensitive-skin preparations. Its primary functions include foaming, foam stabilization, thickening, conditioning, and reducing overall formulation irritancy.

Household Detergents:Used in the preparation of hard waterresistant detergents. Due to its soil removal, antistatic, and softening properties, it is also employed as a fabric softener and lime soap dispersant.

Industrial Applications:

In the rubber industry, it serves as a gelling emulsifier.

Used as a foamforming agent in firefighting foams.

In metal processing, it functions as an antistatic and antirust agent.

In agrochemicals, it acts as a synergist for glyphosate.Recommended dosage: 3.05.0%




Safety and Storage

 

From a safety perspective, BS-12 is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
