Product Features
At room temperature, BS-16 is a colorless to pale yellow transparent viscous liquid. It is readily soluble in water with excellent solubility. In acidic media (low pH), it exhibits cationic properties, while in alkaline media (high pH) it shows anionic behavior, enabling stable compatibility with various surfactants over a wide pH range. BS-16 remains stable in acidic, alkaline, and hard water conditions, and is also stable in the presence of sodium hypochlorite. However, prolonged heating above 100℃ should be avoided.
BS-16 combines multiple functions, including detergency, bactericidal action, softening, and rust prevention, and can be used to enhance the cleaning power of heavy-duty grease removers. It demonstrates good affinity for skin and hair, along with antistatic properties. Additionally, it exhibits effective thickening performance and is suitable for thickening anionic-based cleansers.
Application
Household and Industrial Cleaning: This is its primary application area, commonly used in formulating shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, and children's cleansers. It helps soften hair, improve manageability, and reduce skin irritation.
Textile Industry: Employed as a fabric softener and antistatic agent, and also used in the milling of wool.
Oilfield Industry: Serves as an enhanced oil recovery agent and foaming agent to improve petroleum recovery rates.
Other Fields: Also used as a metal surface treatment aid, rust inhibitor, and fire-fighting foam agent.
Safety and Storage
From a safety perspective, BS-16 is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.
In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.
It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
