Product Features

CHSB is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid under standard temperature and pressure. It exhibits excellent water solubility (approximately 520 g/L) and has a density of about 1.18 g/cm³ (20℃). Its ionic properties vary with environmental pH: it shows cationic behavior under acidic conditions and anionic behavior under alkaline conditions, granting it outstanding chemical stability across a wide pH range. Moreover, it demonstrates good compatibility with anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants, enabling synergistic effects. CHSB exhibits low irritation to skin and eyes, making it highly suitable for infant care products and sensitive skin formulations.

It generates abundant, fine, and stable foam while providing notable thickening effects, thereby helping to improve product texture. Under conditions of high water hardness (e.g., high calcium and magnesium ion content), it maintains stable cleaning and foaming performance without easily forming soap scum. CHSB possesses good antistatic and antibacterial properties, and it also acts as a thickener for soap-based systems. Additionally, it exhibits favorable biodegradability and is considered environmentally friendly.

Application

Personal Care and Household Products (Core Application Areas): It serves as a key ingredient in mid-to-high-end shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, hand soaps, and similar products, performing multiple functions such as cleansing, foaming, thickening, and conditioning. It is particularly suitable for formulating baby-specific products. In skincare and haircare formulations, it also acts as an excellent softening and conditioning agent, improving skin feel and hair texture.

Industrial Fields:

Oilfield Recovery: Used as a viscosity reducer, enhanced oil recovery agent, and foaming agent to help improve crude oil recovery.

Textile Industry: Employed as a softener and antistatic agent.

Other Applications: Also used in the formulation of metal cleaners, paint strippers, etc.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, CHSB is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
