Product Features

At room temperature, BTMS exists as white hemispherical particles. It melts into a liquid when the temperature rises above 50℃. It is readily soluble in polar organic solvents such as ethanol and chloroform. It has good compatibility with cationic, non-ionic, and amphoteric surfactants, yielding significant synergistic effects. However, it is incompatible with direct compounding with anionic surfactants, as this will result in precipitation. BTMScan significantly reduce surface tension and exhibits softening, emulsifying, dispersing, antistatic, and thickening effects. Its long carbon chain structure endows it with good adsorption capacity, ensuring long-lasting efficacy and resistance to accumulation. Compared with some short-chain or halide salt-based quaternary ammonium salts, it has lower irritation to the skin and mucous membranes, making it more suitable for personal care products. Some products are derived from plant-based raw materials (e.g., behenic acid from non-genetically modified rapeseed oil), aligning with the trend of green environmental protection.

Application

Personal Care and Daily Chemicals:This is its primary application field. As a core conditioning ingredient in hair conditioners, hair masks, shampoos, and other products, it forms an adsorption film on the surface of hair fibers, significantly improving dry and wet combability, enhancing luster, reducing frizz, and resisting residual accumulation. It is recommended for luxurious experience and for normal and thick hair types.

Textile Industry:As a high-grade fabric softener and antistatic agent, it is applied to wool, silk, and other fabrics to enhance fluffiness, softness, and hand feel.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, BTMSis irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
