Product Features

At room temperature, D1021 is a colorless to slightly yellow liquid. It is hygroscopic. It is slightly soluble in water (solubility of approximately 650mg/L at 25℃), but readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and isopropanol. It has low irritation, a mild odor, and leaves no residue when dissolved in water, complying with environmental protection requirements. It exhibits good compatibility with cationic, non-ionic, and amphoteric surfactants, with significant synergistic effects. However, it is incompatible with direct compounding with anionic surfactants, as this will result in precipitation. It can significantly reduce surface tension and possesses emulsifying, dispersing, and foaming capabilities. Compared with single-chain quaternary ammonium salts, its di-decyl chain structure endows it with stronger surface activity and superior bactericidal efficacy. It has good killing effects against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, as well as enveloped and non-enveloped viruses. Its bactericidal efficacy is superior to that of dodecyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride (1227), and it is classified as a medium-level disinfectant.

Application

Disinfection and Sanitation:It is used for disinfection in hospitals, public places, and households, with significant effects against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and other pathogens.

Wood Preservation:It is applied as a wood preservative.

Industrial Water Treatment:It serves as a bactericidal algaecide in industrial circulating cooling water systems and oilfield water injection systems.

Textile Industry:It acts as a mothproof agent for wool products, as well as a fabric softener and antistatic agent.

Oilfield Chemistry:It is used for sterilization and corrosion prevention during oilfield drilling and oil recovery processes.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, D1021 is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
