Product Features

D8021 appears as a colorless to slightly yellow liquid at room temperature. It is hygroscopic. It is slightly soluble in water (with a solubility of approximately 650mg/L at 25℃), but readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and isopropanol. It exhibits excellent compatibility with cationic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants, yielding remarkable synergistic effects. However, it is incompatible with anionic surfactants when directly compounded, as this will result in precipitation. It can significantly reduce surface tension and possesses emulsifying, dispersing and foaming capabilities. As a mixed product, D8021 features a combination of C8 and C10 chain lengths, which achieves a balance between diffusion capacity and bactericidal efficacy, generating a synergistic bactericidal effect. It has a good killing effect on bacteria, fungi, algae and even some viruses, classifying it as a broad-spectrum bactericide. Compared with early-generation quaternary ammonium salts, it maintains favorable bactericidal performance even in the presence of organic contaminants and under hard water conditions.

Application

Industrial Water Treatment (Core Application):It is a commonly used bactericidal and algaecidal agent in swimming pools, industrial circulating cooling water systems and oilfield reinjection water, effectively controlling microbial growth and biological slime.

Disinfection and Sanitation:It is used in formulating hard surface cleaners and disinfectants, applied for disinfection of hard surfaces in hospitals, food processing equipment and public places.

Daily Chemicals and Personal Care:It serves as an antistatic agent and softener in shampoos and conditioners; it is also used in daily chemical products such as wet wipes and antibacterial hand sanitizers.

Textile Industry:It is used as a fabric softener and mothproof agent for woolen products.

Other Industrial Additives:It acts as an emulsifier in pesticide formulations; in materials science, it is used as a dispersant for nanomaterials (e.g., carbon nanotubes).

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, D8021 is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
