Product Features

 

1427 appears as white crystals or a white crystalline powder in its high-purity form at ambient temperature. Its 50% aqueous solution is a colorless or pale yellow transparent liquid, which may exhibit a viscous, paste-like consistency at high concentrations, accompanied by a faint benzyl-like odor.

Chemically stable, it is resistant to light, heat, and weak acids and bases, integrating multiple functionalities such as sterilization, emulsification, antistatic action, and softening. However, prolonged heating above 100 is not recommended. It demonstrates good compatibility with cationic and nonionic surfactants or dyes, but is incompatible with anionic surfactants (e.g., soap) or certain auxiliaries, as their combination can result in precipitation.

1427 possesses broad-spectrum, high-efficiency bactericidal properties, exhibiting effective elimination against a variety of bacteria and algae. Compared to its dodecyl-chain counterparts, the tetradecyl (C14) alkyl chain imparts stronger hydrophobicity and adsorption capacity, resulting in more persistent surface activity and antimicrobial efficacy, as well as enhanced emulsifying capability for oils and fats.

 



Application

 

Industrial Water Treatment (Core Application): Used as a bactericide-algicide, slime stripper, and system cleaning agent, widely applied in industrial circulating water systems across sectors such as petroleum, chemical, and power generation. Typical dosage ranges from 40100 mg/L (routine maintenance), which can be increased to 100200 mg/L during slime stripping operations. Foaming may occur during application, requiring the addition of antifoaming agents.

Household & Textile Applications: Employed in high-grade disinfectants and kitchen cleaners (suitable for heavy grease scenarios); used as an antibacterial softening agent for fabrics, particularly dense materials (e.g., cotton, canvas), to enhance smoothness and antibacterial durability.

Scientific Research & Analysis: Serves as an ion-association reagent in extraction photometric analysis and as a sensitizing agent in metal photometric determination.

Other Fields: Used as a phase-transfer catalyst in organic synthesis and as a preservative in metalworking fluids.




Safety and Storage

 

From a safety perspective, 1427 is irritating to the skin and eyes. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated indoor place, protected from moisture and strictly guarded against exposure to sunlight.
