Application
Surfactant Intermediate:Bis(2-ethylhexyl)amine is used in the synthesis of anionic and nonionic surfactants, which are applied in detergents, cosmetics, and lubricants.It is utilized to prepare quaternary ammonium salt surfactants for oilfield chemicals and textile auxiliaries.
Metal Extractant:Bis(2-ethylhexyl)amine selectively extracts rare earth elements (e.g., lanthanide metals), copper, nickel, etc., and is used in hydrometallurgy.In mineral flotation, it separates metal minerals to improve recovery rates.
Emulsifier:Bis(2-ethylhexyl)amine is employed in the preparation of stable emulsions for coatings, inks, and pesticide formulations.It acts as a thickener and stabilizer in cosmetics.
