Product Features
MA1010 exists as a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid at room temperature. It is insoluble in water and readily soluble in most organic solvents. As a versatile intermediate for synthesizing cationic surfactants, MA1010 can react with alkylating agents such as methyl chloride to produce didecyldimethylammonium chloride (DDAC), a cationic quaternary ammonium salt.
Application
The core application of MA1010 is its reaction with methyl chloride to produce didecyldimethylammonium chloride (DDAC), a high-efficiency bactericide that is widely used in fields including industrial water treatment, animal husbandry, and swimming pool disinfection.
Safety and Storage
From a safety perspective, MA1010 is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.
In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.
