Product Features

DMA1212 exists as a colorless to slightly yellow transparent liquid or a white to pale yellow paste at room temperature, with its physical form being temperature-dependent. It has a melting point of 16℃, is insoluble in water, and readily soluble in most organic solvents. As a versatile intermediate for synthesizing cationic surfactants, DMA1212 can react with alkylating agents such as methyl chloride and benzyl chloride to produce various cationic quaternary ammonium salt surfactants, including dialkyl benzyl quaternary ammonium salt (D1217) and dialkyl quaternary ammonium salt (D1221). In addition, DMA1212 contains two long carbon chains (C12), which endows its derived surfactants with stronger surface activity and lower critical micelle concentration.

Application

Disinfection and Sanitation: The quaternary ammonium salt derivatives of DMA1212 (e.g., D1217, D1221) are highly efficient bactericidal and disinfectant ingredients, which are widely used in industrial water treatment, oilfield produced water reinjection, swimming pools, hospitals, and household disinfectants.

Industrial Additives: DMA1212 serves as a high-efficiency emulsifier, corrosion inhibitor, and dispersant in fields such as oilfield chemicals, mineral flotation, pigment and dye dispersion, and asphalt emulsification.

Safety and Storage

From a safety perspective, MA1212 is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

Stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition, heat, and oxidizing agents.Store separately from incompatible substances such as acids.
