Product Features

 

Tri-n-hexylamine is a colorless liquid under normal temperature and pressure, with a characteristic amine-like odor. It is slightly soluble in water while miscible with most organic solvents. Its molecule contains three long carbon-chain hexyl groups, giving it a high oil-water partition coefficient (LogP) and excellent hydrophobic properties. It is mainly used as an organic synthesis intermediate and solvent in chemical reactions.

Tri-n-hexylamine is a solvent of medium polarity between polar and non-polar solvents, which enables it to dissolve a wide range of organic substances.




Application

 

Organic Synthesis Intermediate: It is used in the synthesis of fine chemicals such as dyes, pigments, surfactants and pharmaceuticals.

Solvent: It serves as a medium for chemical reactions or is applied in extraction and separation processes.

Ion-Pair Chromatography Reagent: It is used as an ion-pair reagent in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for the separation and analysis of polar compounds.




Safety and Storage

 

From a safety perspective, Tri-n-hexylamine is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

Stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition, heat, and oxidizing agents.Store separately from incompatible substances such as acids.
