Product Features
N235 is a colorless to pale yellow transparent oily liquid under normal temperature and pressure, with an ammonia-like odor. It is extremely slightly soluble in water yet readily soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols and ethers. It also features stable chemical properties, high temperature resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, enabling it to adapt to relatively harsh industrial environments. Meanwhile, it has low toxicity and low volatility, and is recyclable, which reduces the comprehensive application cost and the impact on the environment. The nitrogen atom in the tertiary amine group of N235 has a lone pair of electrons, allowing it to form stable complexes with various metal ions (e.g., cobalt, nickel, uranium, etc.) to achieve efficient separation. It can also react with alkylating agents such as halogenated hydrocarbons to generate quaternary ammonium salts, which can be used as phase transfer catalysts or for the preparation of other chemicals.
Application
Metal Extraction and Separation: It can effectively extract and separate cobalt and nickel in a hydrochloric acid medium; it is also used for the extraction of metals such as uranium, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, platinum, gold and copper. When used synergistically with extractants such as P507, it achieves high-purity separation of rare earth elements.
Industrial Wastewater Treatment: It can effectively treat industrial wastewater containing phenolic compounds, organic acids, esters and other substances; it removes heavy metal ions (e.g., Zn²⁺, Fe³⁺, Cu²⁺) from wastewater through complexation reactions.
Organic Synthesis and Chemical Engineering: Its quaternary ammonium salt derivatives can be used as phase transfer catalysts.
Other Applications: It is applied in the synthesis of dye intermediates, preservatives, rubber antioxidants and metal corrosion inhibitors.
Safety and Storage
From a safety perspective, N235 is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.
In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.
Stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition, heat, and oxidizing agents.Store separately from incompatible substances such as acids.
