Product Features

 

PKOH is a white to slightly yellow solid at room temperature, with a density of approximately 0.91 g/cm3(20). It is alkaline and soluble in acidic media, which is probably associated with its ability to form salts under acidic conditions. As a key intermediate for manufacturing various important surfactants, PKOH can be used to produce betaines, amine oxides, quaternary ammonium salts and other substances. These derivatives serve as essential raw materials in industries such as daily chemicals, detergent and textile. In addition, PKOH boasts environmentally friendly properties, and its system is described as environmentally benign and clean in specific industrial applications like oilfield acidizing and fracturing.




Application

 

Mineral Flotation: It is used as an effective quartz sand flotation agent.

Asphalt Emulsification: It serves as an efficient asphalt emulsifier.

Oilfield Chemistry: In oilfield acidizing and fracturing operations, it is applied to formulate a novel gelled acid fluid system, which is described as being free of secondary formation damage and environmentally friendly.




Safety and Storage

 

From a safety perspective, PKOH is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.

In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.

Stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition, heat, and oxidizing agents.Store separately from incompatible substances such as acids.
