Product Features
Under ambient temperature and pressure, OPA-3 is a colorless and transparent liquid with a characteristic ammoniacal or pungent odor typical of amines. The primary amino group (-NH₂) in its molecular structure endows it with basicity, allowing it to react with acids to form salts. The ether linkage (-O-) in the molecule is stable to alkalis but may cleave under strong acidic conditions.
Equipped with both a hydrophilic amino group and a lipophilic ether linkage, OPA-3 achieves an excellent balance between water solubility and oil solubility. In addition, the primary amino group provides diverse possibilities for chemical modification. OPA-3 boasts a broad application scope and is suitable for use as an intermediate in the synthesis of products across the dye, pharmaceutical and pesticide industries.
Application
Dye Intermediates:This is its core application, serving as a raw material for the synthesis of dyes and pigments.
Pharmaceuticals & Agrochemicals:It acts as an intermediate in the synthesis of antibiotics, antiviral drugs, and high-efficiency, low-toxicity pesticides.
Polymer Modification:It is used in the curing or cross-linking reactions of polyurethanes and epoxy resins.
