Product Features
Under ambient temperature and pressure, OPA13 is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid with a pungent odor. It has low solubility in water but is readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol.
The primary amino group (-NH₂) in the OPA13 molecule endows it with basicity, enabling it to react with acids to form salts. The long-chain alkoxy groups in the molecule impart hydrophobic (lipophilic) properties, granting it high distribution capacity in the organic phase. Its branched-chain structure provides excellent low-temperature fluidity, outperforming linear homologues. Meanwhile, the branched structure can rapidly reduce surface tension and deliver extremely fast wetting speed, facilitating the rapid spreading and penetration of formulations. Additionally, OPA13 serves as an effective emulsifier and dispersant, aiding in the formation of stable systems.
Application
Polymer Industry:As a catalyst and accelerator, it is used in the preparation of polymers such as polyurethanes and polyamides.
Surfactants:As an intermediate, it is applied in the production of surfactants and additives used in the paper industry and petroleum & natural gas processing.
Other Fields:It can also be used as a swelling agent or a desulfurization and deblocking agent.
Safety and Storage
From a safety perspective, OPA13 is irritating and corrosive to the skin and eyes, and contact may cause burns. Strict personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn during handling to avoid direct contact.
In case of skin or eyes contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes and seek medical assistance.
Stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition, heat, and oxidizing agents.Store separately from incompatible substances such as acids.
